You know how a man is either a butt or a breast man? My theory is that any woman is either a shoe or a bag woman. Yes yes I know, some of you are swinging both ways and would have a harder choice to make than Sophie if it was either the bag or the shoe, but me myself and I is a shoe girl every day of the week. So being in my right element and about to start writing a weekly column for a magazine entirely devoted to the shoe, I started to think about it, what’s the big deal? Why this passion and at times obsession with shoes?
So I took a stroll down memory lane and shockingly, I realized I have been wearing shoes since I could walk, and that is a skill I’ve mastered for 24 years now. So before I knew how to talk, read, eat (by myself that is), be sarcastic or even fall in love, I was wearing shoes. And now you are thinking, but you were wearing clothes as well before all that? Nope nope, I wasn’t. Even at times when running around naked 11 months old at places such as the beach or other naked friendly occasions, I was always wearing shoes! So the shoe is a habit? No. It’s a storyteller.
Thinking of some life defining moments and beautiful memories such as the first day in school, first kiss, romantic trip to Paris, movie premieres, graduation and so on and so forth, I remember what shoes I was wearing. I’m not one of those hoarders who will save a toothpick from their first date with their future husband and I wont buy a fridge magnet when in Prague. I hate having stuff around me I don’t need and I’m very selective with what I’ll keep, but a shoe I will never throw or give away.
So the next time your boyfriend/ husband/ partner/ economical provider/ or anyone else tells you “But you already have 4 of those” you tell them “Shoes are not materialistic things or a fashion statement, they are souvenirs of life!”

I love the style and the writing!!! Fantastically done Zorana
