The one thing Milan has over the other fashion weeks are the shoe presentations. It’s like being in a candy store surround by all those sweet delights.
Francesco Russo’s, Creative Director of Sergio Rossi, idea was enveloping the female foot, elongating the leg and elevating the body; enhancing the perfect silhouette. I personally believe he achieved those goals absolutely.
He was inspired by night butterflies, carnivals and harlequins hence such a fun and colourful collection.
The key feature was the twirl design on the majority of the shoes which provides an identifiable signature for this collection.
Sergio Rossi collaborated with Alexander Fury, Fashion Director of Nick Knight’s award-winning website SHOWstudio.com to create ten cinematic studies of the Sergio Rossi Fall 2011 collection. You can view all videos at SHOWstudio.com.
