Last night shoeRA attended the opening of the another handbag shop in Dubai – LANCEL Concept store, The Dubai Mall.
The flagship store of the French fashion brand hosted an unpretentious launch event of their shop as well as bag collection designed in honor of famous Brigitte Bardot, or B.B. as the French like to call her.
Designed by Leonello Borghi, Artistic Director of Lancel, in collaboration with Brigitte Bardot herself, the B.B. bag joins the legions of other famous bags named after famous women.

Based upon the basic design features of Lancel’s top selling ‘First Flirt’ bag, the ‘Brigitte Bardot’ bag is a bucket style bag with tassels and two drawstring side closings, styled with B.B. initials in synthetic leather, pink-and-white gingham and organic tweed.

‘Brigitte Bardot‘ bag is the first bag in Lancel’s collection made without the use of animal-origin materials. The designers simply could not use leather, considering that Brigitte herself actively supports animal rights.
Every detail of the ‘Brigitte Bardot’ bag has been designed to highlight the style and personality of the world’s most famous sex symbol. Leonello Borghi explained that the iPhone pocket reveals the shape of Bardot’s buxom cleavage, the twisted hand strap is reminiscent of the turban she used to wear in her hair, the embroidered shoulder strap harkens to her gypsy like attitude as do the decorative details such as the engraved buckle and the silver and gold rings…
