FREEDOM OF CREATION: Invisible Shoe Series by Andreia Chaves
The first series of 3D printed shoe designs by designer Andreia Chaves were launched during this years’ Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. The series entitled ‘Invisible Shoe’ were shown in New York in a exhibition organized by Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with designer Herve Leger.
For the development of the external 3D structures, Chaves has collaborated with the designers of Dutch based studio Freedom Of Creation.

Described as a study of optical effect applied to shoe design, the ‘Invisible Shoe’ series explores the concept of invisibility though the ‘chameleon effect’ while the shoe’s reflective finished surface creates an obscured optical effect with each step taken. This innovative design greatly exceeds the primary function of the shoe, where “protecting” the foot also means “deleting” or “immersing” it into the environment.
The series, which will be available in limited edition, in two different models, is handmade in Italy using a combination of leather making techniques together with advanced 3D printing technology.
A native of San Paulo, Brazil, Andreia Chaves’s work had captured the attention of international media even before her graduation from Polimoda Fashion Institute in Florence, Italy. Chaves’ ambition is to bring a fresh perspective to fashion, “fusing the mastery and traditions of making with a visionary approach to design while also embracing the potential of 21st century technology”. Chaves works between Italy and Ireland.

ONE OF A KIND LOOK: Get it at Glamfoxx.com
Recently I ran into one rather interesting website that sells the most unique fashion from only up and coming designers and artists. GLAMFOXX.com has truly unique, fashionable couture products before anyone else for all of us ‘one of a kind’ look lovers.
They have amazing hand painted heels and sneakers, but also the up and coming trends that few have heard of such as Heel Condoms and Bootzwallas – both of these straight from the Grammy grab bags and NY Fashion week.
Beside the hand painted shoe art from Shoes of Imagination in Las Vegas, GLAMFOXX sells swimsuits from Kami Shade, women’s clothing and accessories, infant and children’s wear, and items for the home brought to you from manufacturers all over the world.
Although GLAMFOXX is US based they have international shipping as well.

LONDON CELEBRITY SHOE AUCTION: Stars Donate Shoes for Charity
On October 12, 2011 a Celebrities shoes auction will take place at the Royal Society of Medicine in London. A campaign aims to raise awareness and aid for the children working on some of the world’s biggest landfills.
Boy George wore these shoes the very first time he performed on Top of the Pops
At the moment 47 celebrities already donated their favorite shoes for this noble cause – Sarah Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller, Vivienne Westwood, Eva Green, Samantha Fox, Rachel Weisz, Jaime Lee Curtis, Ricky Gervais, Jamie Oliver and Boy George among the others.
Sienna Miller has given these gorgeous black and red Calvin Klein heels
Sarah Jessica Parker has donated not 1 pair of Louboutins but 2
Jaime Lee Curtis has given Small Steps a beautiful pair of Manolo Blahnik black patent peep-toe stilettos
Rachel Weisz donates her gold Coach wedges
Shoes will be auctioned by the Small Steps Project, a charity founded by former celebrity journalist Amy Hanson after an enlightening visit to Cambodia in 2008.
“After working in show-business for so long, I knew how much food, alcohol and luxury goods were wasted in the industry,” the former party girl admitted. “The amount that we waste is causing such harm to not only the planet, but to lives on the other side of the world – and we don’t even realise it.”
“When I went to Cambodia, I witnessed huge landfills filled with our waste and excess packaging where the local children would look for scraps to sell in order to support their families. Ideally we want to raise enough money to get the children away from the rubbish dumps and into schools, but for now we’re focusing on providing durable boots to prevent the children from harming themselves with the shards of glass and sharp objects on the ground.”
Limited number of tickets for the live auction started to sell yesterday, but you can still add celebrities to the ‘wish list’ here. I’d definitely love to see shoes Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham would give away…
Pop star from my childhood, Samantha Fox, has donated the shoes she wore on the cover of her Greatest Hits album 2010
Ricky Gervais is the first Small Steps Shoe Auction celebrity to give signed shoes

NEW STORE: Christian Louboutin Flagship Boutique in The Dubai Mall
OMG!
My beloved shoe designer Christian Louboutin opened a shop in The Dubai Mall! Despite rumors that the flagship boutique will open it’s doors in October or November, actual opening happened on July 23rd without show and pompous ceremonies.
We can tell that Mr. Loubi’s business is doing good, as this is his second stand alone boutique in Dubai and the third location within in the United Arab Emirates.
New shop is located within the prestigious Fashion Avenue of The Dubai Mall, the largest shopping destination in the world, right next door to Armani, McQueen, Gucci, Valentino and other big names.
Interior design of the shop, done by firm ‘212box‘, is in the same recognizable concept of features such as the niche walls, acrylic displays, exotic patterns of textile and red carpet.
Of all three locations The Dubai Mall store offers the biggest selection of handbags, women’s and men’s shoes.
My favorite combo!
