Last week Galeries Lafayette in Dubai showcased Fall Winter 2011 styles inspired by the great cities of the world - New York, London, Paris, Dubai and Shanghai.
The theme was a running ‘Fashion Express’ train by five prestigious fashionista’s and five amazing bloggers: Derek Khan and Tinayums; Ushi Sato and Alanoud Badr; Dina Al Faris and Teresa Karpinska; Fanny Massoutre and Dina Daoud; Wadih El Najar and Huda Kattan.
The venue was at the Lafayette rooftop, The Dubai Mall. The guestlist was much longer than the capacity of the venue area, not to mention the limited number of seats. Front row was reserved and I was lucky to grab one of the last press labeled chairs in the back from where the view was terribly poor. Fortunately our official photographer Ziad came along and he took some nice photos for you.
The crowd was still arriving after the show kicked off, crossing the runway while the models walked. I couldn’t believe my eyes and I hope incidents like these will never happen again, especially not at the Galeries Lafayette. It is not acceptable, no matter how VIP you are, or not!
