This week I heard the rather exciting news that Christian Louboutin (my shoe hero) will be expanding his empire by bringing out a beauty range! This could not come at a better time for me, as moving to Dubai has turned me into a bit of a beauty junkie.

Before moving to the burning desert a simple slick of mascara and a little blush would do me, now with all these glam beauties around me I am inspired to try smoky eyes, feline flicks and statement lips. So you can see why I screamed out loud when I heard the shoe genius’s latest foray into the beauty world. Not since Brad and Angelina has there been a more beautiful partnership, and never mind the lipstick colours imagine the packaging! I pray for studded compacts and glittery eye shadow holders, after all I can fall head of heels for a bling bit of packaging as much as the next girl.
I sent a frantic email to my sister when I heard, not that she’s particularly interested in beauty products, she’s one of those (sickingly) fresh faced beauties with cute little apple cheeks and natural healthy blush. I could tell the disinterest in her return email reminding me not to go too far with the artificial rubbish (so wise for a sixteen year old) unless I wanted to look like a drag queen or worse still revert to my circa 2008 look which could only be described as Umpa Lumpa. I reminded her that Christian himself was in fact a genius and that he would never design a foundation that makes you look like you are wearing a mask. Her reply? ‘Just stay away from the fake eyelashes they make you look like you have dead spiders stuck to your face.’
Regardless of my cynical sibling my guesses are that Christian Louboutin beauty will be a phenomenon that will go down in history, after all his shoes encompass the fantasy, style and grace of women and have captured the nation. The flash of red sole is his signature so I’m betting the collection will contain some stunning red lippies and vibrant crimson nail polishes. What’s more glamour is his forte so I am sure there will glitter galore and a never ending supply of slick black eyeliners. Now with all this talk of Louboutin love all I have to wait for is a ready-wear collection, and my life will be literally complete.
