Hello shoe addicts long time no speak. Its been a busy couple of months in my world and with Christmas looming (in only six weeks time no less!) I thought it was high time I sat down and shared some shoe news with you all!
It’s long boot season over here in the UK, and last week I decided to boost my shoe collection (as if it needs it) and invest in some smart boots for work. Zara has always been my go to place for high street work wear as they always have a fabulous collection of shirts and smart coats. Not only that but after the success of my stiletto two strap sandals in the summer I decided I would check out their boots as well. They did not disappoint. In fact I think their winter boot collection is even better than ever before.
Being on the short side it can sometimes be hard for me to find boots that aren’t too big around the leg (baggy long boot is not attractive) but Zara’s collection ticks all the boxes. Long, elegant, smart and narrow fitting. I invested in a suede mid heel pair (much like a pair Kate Middleton wore recently).
After leaving Zara armed with bags (of course I couldn’t just get boots!) I headed to Russell and Bromley, which is the best place for really good quality leather boots. Flat boots aren’t really my thing but sometimes a really stylish flat leather horse riding style boot can look effortlessly cool paired with a comfy knit and tailored jeans. I tried on several pairs before deciding on a warm chestnut coloured pair which matched perfectly with my new Mulberry Bayswater double zip tote.
Of course a party pair is always a good idea so armed with my shopping bags (which were getting heavier by the minute) I headed to Selfridges to look for some sparkle.
It wasn’t long before I was surrounded by boxes (you’ve got to try them all on!) and I decided on a pair of Nine West ankle boots with silver sparkly heels. I find that ankle boots can really toughen up a pretty party dress especially in winter.
I was feeling pretty tired (and broke) after my boot binge so I headed home, but not before having a sly glance at the Christmas courts, its party season soon don’t forget!
