Hello Shoe Lovers apologies for being MIA but I’ve had a very busy few weeks which, thanks to monkey man, have only really involved wearing my wellingtons. On this note I recently updated my Wellington collection (well if you’re going to wear wellingtons you might as well have a choice) and invested in a rather nice navy pair with little white rabbits on them (twee I know). The trouble is they look so fab I don’t really want to get them dirty.
As it is festival season right now you might also be thinking of purchasing a rather snazzy pair of wellingtons (even if it’s not raining or muddy they still look fab with denim shorts). Your first point of call should of course be Hunter (a great British heritage brand right there) and you can get these in all sorts of colours (they even have metallic gold and silver!) and if you’re really going to fashionista it up see if you can get your hands on the Jimmy Choo for Hunter croc skin effect beauties.
Next up on the Wellington wish list it has to be Joules, especially if like me you are a fan of patterns. There are endless colour and pattern combinations on their website so you can even match them with your outfit. Taking their style inspirations from Burberry, many of the Joules wellingtons have animals on them (like my rabbit pair) so if you are into horses, dogs or chickens you are in for a treat.
Now before you start thinking I’ve gone Wellington mad (well I have a bit) and fully turned into a country bumpkin, you may like to know that on a rather frivolous spend I once bought a totally impractical pair of heeled Wellingtons from Juicy Couture. Baby pink with white bows and little block heels. They looked amazing but comfortable they were not, and after trying to walk my dog a couple of miles in them I was ready to throw them in the bin. They are now resigned to my under the bed box which consists of shoes I can’t wear but equally can’t throw away.
In other shoe news I recently purchased a super pair of platforms, with black lace flowers all over them. Unfortunately I have had to pack these away in their box as well, as one day last week when I was reversing the car I managed to reverse into another car. I’m going to blame it on the shoes, and that the brake peddle was slippery (no one was in the other car by the way!) but it could in fact have been my driving…
