If you are shoeRA blog follower you already know that I have a serious case of split personality. There are two Ana’s living in one body at the same time – one is hard working architect that goes to office every morning to design and draw the most spectacular buildings for Dubai and the other Ana is a fashion lover with greatest passion for shoes (you’re reading my shoe blog obviously). In the night when Ana the architect goes to bed after a long day in architectural studio she dreams about being Fashion Footwear Buyer for a luxury department store or high-end boutique in town.
This explains how they (the two Ana’s) decided to apply and attend Fashion Buying and Merchandising short course by prestigious London College of Fashion here in Dubai. It was an introductory three days long course that took place at newly refurbished VIDA hotel in Downtown (formerly known as Qamardeen hotel designed by DSA Architects – company that Ana works for).
Everything was perfect – from the venue, timing, inspiring teacher Sue Dean – a real world professional as she likes to say to delicious snacks, coffee and cakes. A true 5 star experience.
I was in a group of 14 very interesting fellow students, young enthusiastic individuals with various backgrounds from around the region. The amount of information that was communicated in those three days was beyond my expectations. I learnt so much and at the same time came to realization of how much more there is to learn. It was also fun and creative, perfect event to collect the essence on the subject and network with like-minded professionals.
The advanced course is definitely something I won’t miss and I’m looking forward to May as there are other topics I want to know more about too.
